Our ‘equal consideration’ deadline for receipt of applications is Thursday 5th February 2026. Applications may still be submitted after this date but any conditional offers will be dependent on projections of available places, including spaces on selected courses.
Conditional offer / decision letters will be sent out in the second half of Spring term. For external applicants, a satisfactory reference will be required from your nominated referee.

FAQs
Can I take the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)?
All students are given the option at the start of September to sign up to the EPQ. The EPQ is an independent research project that can be completed alongside your ‘core’ study programme. It is highly regarded by employers and universities, being worth up to 28 UCAS tariff points and sometimes resulting in reduced entry requirements for university courses.

What is the L3 Mathematical Studies course?
L3 Mathematical Studies is an Advanced Subsidiary (AS) course which is the equivalent of half an A-level and is worth up to 28 UCAS tariff points. Some universities and employers will look favourably on students who take the course alongside their core study programme of (normally) three A level / L3 subjects.
Students can express an interest in taking L3 Mathematical Studies as an additional enrichment course as long as they do not already take Mathematics A-level and have compatibility in the option blocks for their main chosen courses. Some students may be required to take Mathematical Studies if they select a study programme consisting of courses with a demanding level of quantitative skill – for example – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology and/or Geography – and do not also take Mathematics A-level.

More information about both EPQ and L3 Mathematical Studies can be found here: Enrichment Courses

Can I take four Level 3 courses?
Most students will study a three course programme (potentially plus EPQ) however, a small number of students may choose to take Maths, Further Maths plus 2 other courses if they have a suitable prior attainment / grade profile. Any other 4-course combination would need to be discussed with a member of the Sixth Form Team.

What if my chosen course / courses are oversubscribed?
In the event that there are more applicants for a course than we can accommodate, then places will be allocated with priority given to those who also specified that course as part of their initial course preferences list in November 2025. After this, priority will be based on the order the applications were received. Any student who is not able to be given a place initially, will be offered an alternative course (usually the reserve choice) and placed on a waitlist for the preferred course. We are normally able to offer places on preferred courses once enrolment takes place after GCSE Results Day, but this cannot be guaranteed beforehand.
