Admissions Year 7 September 2017

 

Applications for Year 7 places in September 2017 have to be made through your 'home' local authority (i.e. where you live and not where your child currently goes to school). This means that if you live in Cheshire West and Chester Council's administrative area, your application for a Year 7 secondary school place must be made on a Cheshire West and Chester Council's Application Form. This process can be completed online by going to:

Timetable for Cheshire West Secondary Transfers

1st September 2016                

  • Parents / carers can apply for a school place either online or by paper copy

31st October 2016

  • Closing date for on-time applications
  • Paper applications must be received by this date to be considered as 'on-time' and returned to;
    School Admissions,
    Cheshire West and Chester Council,
    Wyvern House,
    The Drumber,
    Winsford,
    Cheshire,
    CW7 1AH.
    Online applications must be submitted to the authority by this date (Don't forget to press the submit button on your account)

1st March 2017

  • Notification of offers by Local Authority
  • Offer letters notifying parents / carers of school place offered sent out by post to parents/carers who have applied using a paper application.
  • Online offers made available for parents / carers to view, e-mail offers sent to those who have requested this when setting up their account.

15th March 2017

  • Parents / Carers must accept or decline the school place offered
  • If an accept/decline is not received by this date the authority reserves the right to withdraw places

 

If you have been unsuccessful with your application for a place at Bishop Heber High School, please contact the School's Admissions Officer, Mrs Karen Stubbs on 01948 862029 for advice, or, alternatively, download and complete the Appeals Form PDF and return to the School marked for her attention – BHHS Appeals Form 2017. If you decide to appeal you are strongly advised to seek a place at an alternative school in case your appeal is unsuccessful. However, securing a place at an alternative school will not prejudice your right of appeal for Bishop Heber High School. However, no places can be offered (backfilled) by law until after the 15th March 2017 deadline.

I live in the Wrexham authority - What must I do to secure a place at Bishop Heber High School?

1. Complete the Application Form from Wrexham Authority (see below), indicating you wish to attend Bishop Heber High School by 4th November 2016.

 

2. AND IN ADDITION complete a Cheshire West and Chester Application Form, which can be downloaded from our Website www.bishopheber.cheshire.sch.uk – Admissions, indicating you wish to attend Bishop Heber High School. DO NOT enter any Welsh schools on this form (use the Wrexham Authority Form for this), and return the completed Cheshire West and Chester Application Form to: School Admissions, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Wyvern House, The Drumber, Winsford, Cheshire, CW7 1AH, by 31st October 2016.

 

You will need to complete an Application for both Authorities.
