Sixth Form Students Reach for the Stars!
Image

Every year this is an anxious time for staff, students and their families, as they await the results which are the culmination not just of Sixth Form but of 13 years in school. This year’s examinations are the first for the new specifications introduced in 2008 and also the first time that the new A* grade has been awarded for exceptional A-Level performance. Thus it is always wonderful to be able to celebrate the academic achievements of our students with them and to share their joy in their justly deserved success. This year, results were strong across the curriculum, 100% of students studying French achieving a Grade A and all German students achieving Grade A or B. Equally impressively 95% of all students studying A-Level Maths achieved the top grades and three quarters or more of all students studying English, History, Physics and Politics achieved the top grades.

Year 10 - Parental Portal Trial
Over the last half term year 10 parents have been involved in a trial of the Parent's Portal software: Insight. Insight allows access to information about how your son or daughter is doing in school and also to makes it easier for you to keep in touch with us. Parents will be receiving a feedback questionnaire by email, prior to the end of term to allow us to complete the evaluation of this phase before implementing it with an entire school during the Autumn Term of 2010. Usernames and passwords to accounts will be issued to parents during STEPS interviews at the beginning of the Autumn term.
