Courses Religious Education at Key Stages 3 and 4 seeks to enable pupils to explore the six major religions of the world, understanding the people who belong to each faith and evaluating their own responses and philosophies. In a world where religion and related issues are regularly in the news and at the forefront of society, RE equips pupils for life in a multi-cultural society and encourages individual thinking.
At GCSE, OCR Religious Studies: Philosophy and Ethics is offered as a full GCSE to those students who wish to take it. No prior faith is required, and the students will study the philosophy and ethics of Christianity and Islam, related to modern-world issues such as distribution of wealth, war, good and evil, medical ethics and equal rights. Please see the course outline in full on e:Heber.
AS OCR Religious Studies: Philosophy and Ethics is being offered to start in September 2008. Please see the attached information sheet in e:Heber.
