Courses
Students follow the National Curriculum at KS3, being assessed on half termly units and end of year tests in each of years 7, 8 and 9.

All students study for GCSE English and most for GCSE English Literature. Assessments are made for writing, reading and in speaking and listening. Coursework counts for 40% in English and 30% in Literature. The AQA course involves detailed study of an anthology of poems and short stories; alternatively a prose text is studied instead of the short stories.
